In 2008, two lonely hearts seeking love joined the online dating site Match.com. Christopher had a free account which allowed him to view profiles but not to chat with anyone. When he saw Kirsten's profile he was smitten enough to pay for a subscription so he could message her. Emails led to texts, texts led to phone calls, and then on July 19, 2008 they had their first date in New York City.

Their relationship blossomed. Chris was there for Kirsten through the final grueling years of completing her doctorate. Kirsten in turn was there for Chris as he embarked on a new career as a freelance writer and journalist. They moved in together in 2014.

Nine years later, Chris grew tired of living in sin and decided to make Kirsten an honest woman. So on January 27th, 2023, on the last night of their first cruise together, and after a mortifying round of karaoke, Chris brought Kirsten onstage, got down on one knee, and in front of a delighted crowd, asked her to marry him. She said YES!

Kirsten and Chris continue to enjoy their shared loved of horror movies, collectibles, and all things geeky; but most of all, they enjoy their love for each other.
